The FJ Cruiser is the shop's main rig that we take to most of the events we attend.. It is our 'more comfortable' exploration rig (more so than our FJ 55) and we have added modifications that tailor this rig more to overland travel and exploration.
Alison (shop owner) has owned this YJ since she was in high school. It is bone stock except for a Tuffy console and a set of fog lights. It has the 2.5 L (aka: four angry squirrels under the hood) and stock donut tires. It runs great but the time has come for a "few" modifications. The idea is to make this into a very capable wheeler that can run any moderate obstacles with ease and tackle some harder stuff, while still being street friendly enough to drive to the trails. This will be Alison's primary wheeling rig. Here are our tentative plans:
This truck has an interesting life story which has been published in the Nov/Dec 2011 issue of Toyota Trails.
