1990 Jeep Wrangler YJ

Alison (shop owner) has owned this YJ since she was in high school. It is bone stock except for a Tuffy console and a set of fog lights. It has the 2.5 L (aka: four angry squirrels under the hood) and stock donut tires. It runs great but the time has come for a "few" modifications. The idea is to make this into a very capable wheeler that can run any moderate obstacles with ease and tackle some harder stuff, while still being street friendly enough to drive to the trails. This will be Alison's primary wheeling rig. Here are our tentative plans:

Phase I - lift, running

  • Get her running again
  • Tune up
  • 4" Rugged Ridge lift springs
  • Bilstein shocks
  • 35" tires and wheels
  • New top

Phase II - axles, cage, seats, Rhino Line tub

  • Axle swap, TBD
  • Regear
  • ARB lockers front and rear
  • High output ARB compressor
  • Full cage
  • New seats with harnesses
  • Rhino Line tub

Phase III - protection and armor

  • Front bumper from MotoBilt with Warn winch and Southeast Overland synthetic winch line
  • Rear bumper with swing out and pintle for pulling our trailer
  • Sliders
  • Skids

Phase IV - interior and exterior

  • New paint
  • Stereo
  • CB
  • Lifetime LED lighting from Southeast Overland
  • Rear storage and remove rear seats
