Southeast Overland explores the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
From August 7th to August 17th, Southeast Overland covered approximately 2,800 miles of road and trail between South Carolina and Michigan. We spent most of our time off road in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan with the UP Overland crew during their 2010 trip excursion. We visit beautiful places including Land O Lakes, WI, the Adventure Mine in Greenland MI, Copper Harbor and Big Bay, Gay Beach, Marquette and Munising MI. We took a ton of photos and video which we are currently editing and will post up soon to the website. A BIG thanks to the UP Overland group for hosing a wonderful event!

Gear is on the way!
We are working with a local supplier (we try to keep our business as local as possible to support small, independent merchants) and will have t-shirts, stickers, white lettering decals, and a few other goodies within a month or two. We will post up pics ASAP!

Heading to UP Overland!
We have been busy busy getting ready for an upcoming trip in August to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with UP Overland. Check 'em out at www.UPOverland.org. This will be an almost 3,000 mile trip in our 1976 FJ55. She has received a ton of upgrades over the past few months including a National Luna dual battery system from Equipt1 Outfitters, a much higher output 110 amp cs130 alternator, Blue Sea fuse box, Cobra 1500w continuous and 3000w peak inverter, custom rear sleeping and storage platform, and Reflectix heat shield along with a Sony radio and a few other goodies.

Tread Lightly!
Tread Lightly is a great non-profit organization that promotes "responsive outdoor recreation through ethics education and stewardship." See their website at www.treadlightly.org. Simply put, everyone has a right to enjoy recreating in the outdoors and on public lands, but we have to take care of our resources. The southeast United States has a much higher population density than the west, and that equates to more feet and tires on the ground in the woods. If we take care of our outdoor resources, then they will be here for a long time for our use. If we abuse our resources, then trails, roads and campgrounds often are closed. If an area is closed it is very difficult to get it back open again. Therefore, please Tread Lightly! and take care of our resources so they will be available for all into the future.

Please Welcome Southeast Overland!
I am excited to announce Southeast Overland to everyone! My wife and I have always loved the outdoors. I have always known that the Southeast US including South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee had some great things to offer and places to explore, but finding these has always been difficult. There has never been a good resource or place to go to find information, pictures and maps. Southeast Overland will fill this gap by finding these unique, out-of-the-way places and providing you with all of the information you need to follow in our footsteps. We also will travel outside of SC, NC, GA and TN. If you have any routes that you would like published please contact us and we will be happy to post your route and give you credit for the work!
Also, with the slow economy we know that money is tight for everyone. Most of our adventures, if not all, will be extremely affordable. Due to all the time we spend outside we also get to test lots of equipment and we will bring these tests and results to you. We keep an eye out for equipment that is both rugged, affordable, and will make your outdoor explorations more comfortable. We are currently testing an affordable fridge, vehicle awning, sound deadening and head shield material, headers, and am planning tests on a dual battery system and several GPS systems.
We are a new organization so please give us feedback on anything you would like for us to focus on. We will soon be posting up maps of overland routes and other destinations for you to explore. We will field proof as many maps as possible and welcome for anyone to submit their own routes or destinations!
We also have a merchandise page (see link to left) where we will be selling Southeast Overland printed and embroidered merchandise, stickers and other logo apparel.
Thanks to everyone!
